Civil Development Organization-CDO supported Iraq and Kurdistan delegates at Global Peace Summit.

On April 24^thand 25^th, Global Peace Summit is held in Johannesburg, South Africa, in participation of delegates from 60 different countries.

Lanya Jamal and Muhammed Abbas were Delegates of Iraq and Kurdistan, as panelists and orators.

CDO cost the participants expenses and supports them for 1 year to build peace and peaceful coexistence between different nations and religions in Kurdistan.

This support is within the “Supporting Youth Program” of Civil Development Organization.

On April 25, project of “Bread for Everyone” was announced at Civil Development Organization-CDO head office in Sulaymaniyah, in presence of Sulaymaniyah Governor, a number of national and international organizations, and companies.

Bread for Everyone is a charity project which implemented in cooperation with Dana Gas Company; it provides bread for 500 vulnerable families daily. Meanwhile the project in cooperation with Qaiwan Group which provides food packages every couple of months for vulnerable families.

Besides, CDO implements assessment to those families in order to offer them best services, throughout the 2 years, to make them obtain their financial resources and help the others.

Civil Development Organization-CDO participated in AUIS 8^th Career Fair in Sulaymaniyah.

On April 24, in participation of 40 national and international companies, AUIS 8^th Career Fair conducted in Sulaymaniyah. Fortunately this is the second year that CDO took apart and announced new projects and career fair.

AUIS Career Fair is hold annually by American University of Iraq which The companies announce job vacancies and promote themselves, and that would be a great opportunities for job-seekers to get a job.

In the occasion of World Earth Day and to promoting environmental awareness, today, on April 22, Civil Development Organization-CDO and Rwanga Foundation in cooperation with Bazyan Municipality held Trees Planting Campaign.

In presence of Bazyan Mayor, representative of governorate, CDO and Rwanga staffs Trees Planting Campaign has started. The campaign last for 5 days which 1000 trees are going to be plant 600 in Bazyan and 400 in Halabja.

Implementing this campaign is to expand green area and promoting environmental awareness in the area and would help in increasing the green space in Bazyan and reminding the community about risks and consequences caused by air pollution.

According to a recent assessment %32 of the factories in Iraq are located in Sulaymaniyah Governorate, and %80 of those factories are located in Bazyan Area. World Earth Day celebrated annually since 2009 from entire world, many activities would be conducted.

On April 16 which is Kurdistan Environment Day under the slogan of “Environment is Life”, Civil Development Organization-CDO in cooperation with Halabja Directorate of Education, conducted several different activities supervised by teachers of 25 schools of “Tawela, Byara, Khurmal, Sirwan, Halabja”.

Each school conducted activities supervised by teachers such as theater, plant sapling, holding seminars for students and cleaning their schools and streets, in order to raise awareness of the students to save their environment and teach them saving environment is responsibility of all of us.
